All applicants are required to complete the Registration Form. Each applicant is required to complete a minimum of 4-weeks of rotation. The rotations are offered in monthly batches of 4-weeks duration and begin on the first Monday of each month. After registration, the applicant is directed to the payment page. Upon payment of the registration fee, the applicant will receive the program package via email to prepare for the rotation in advance.

The documentation requirements vary at each practice location. Typically, the following documents will be required:

  • Immunization Certificates
  • Liability Insurance
  • An observership refers to a clinical experience during which the applicant shadows or follows the preceptor at their hospital, clinic, or other medical practice as they go about their daily routine to observe the style and particulars of patient management. In this type of experience, the applicants are not involved in direct patient care.

  • A clinical elective in the USA allows you to experience the US health system firsthand. It is undertaken by the third or fourth-year medical students at the hospital or medical school of its affiliates in the US. This means that you have to take patient case histories, perform physical examinations and present your case to an attending physician. You also get access to the medical records system of the hospital.

  • A research elective is a full-time clerkship, with a 40 hour per week commitment. The research elective provides applicants with an opportunity for intense hands-on, research experience during which they can learn about research in either an established or student-initiated research project.

  • An externship is a type of hands-on clinical program open to medical graduates which gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your clinical skills along with direct patient interaction. This program also allows you to earn a performance-based letter of recommendation
